Sotramon is a mechanical engineering company with more than 30 years experience in the industry and is looking for a project engineer to join his team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning, Follow-up and Reporting of projects.
- Liaison with Clients and Management.
- Ensure adherence to prevailing Health & Safety Rules & Regulations.
- Assist in preparation of quotations.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, preferably with 2 to 5 years of work experience (Candidates with no experience will also be considered for the Post of Junior Project Engineer).
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project & AutoCAD.
- Good attitude and self-motivated.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work in Team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Sotramon has a fleet of cranes, ranging from 5 to 300 tons, which are available for rental on a daily or monthly basis, depending on the needs of the Client.
Our Crane department is backed up by a fully qualified and competent team of Plant Administrator, Plants Operations Officer, Crane Foreman, Crane Operators and Crane Helpers.
Sotramon is currently looking for a Crane Operator. (Crane capacity: as from 50 tons)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Operate cranes and back up crane operations
- Assist in the transfer of cranes
- Check and feedback on general state of cranes (mechanic, electrical, control) to ensure safe running and smooth operation
- Perform Maintenance of cranes such as cleaning, washing and greasing and all related works
- Ensure that all Health & Safety rules are strictly adhered and that cranes have valid certificate of operation before operating
- Fill in associated crane documents
- Perform any other cognate duties that would normally devolve upon a job holder of your category
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant field.
- Holder of a valid driving licence (Mobile crane licence is an advantage)
- Good hand-eye coordination and good eyesight with ability to judge distances
- Comfortable working at heights
- Ability to critically think and be able to make a good judgment call quickly

- Ability to successfully support the team in all engineering products,equipment and machinery distributed by the company but also in new ones in order to continuously widen the company portfolio
- Prospecting new products and supporting the procurement team with suppliers
- Liaise as and when required with other engineers within the Group with regard to the designing, production, engineering, research and development aspects so as to satisfy customers’ requirements and specifications
- Assist the sales team in the technical and engineering projects in order to give advice/ assistance to current and potential clients with a view to maintain the competitive edge and to secure business
- Expect to develop and maintain good customer relationship at all times by attending to queries and complaints at all levels and by providing technical assistance
- A sound academic background, with at least a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent from a recognized Institution
- At least 2 years` experience in an engineering environment including customer service and support
- Holder of a valid driving licence
- Outgoing personality with good organisation and administrative skills
- Committed to service excellence with a high customer-oriented approach
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Effective listening and problem solving skills including the ability to take initiatives and provide technical solutions and alternatives
- Computer literate : excellent skills in spreadsheet
